Routine Maintenance

Routine Maintenance

While very low maintenance is necessary for your Nanoimager, it is worth checking for defects at regular intervals.

Cables

Check cables and plugs for defects.

Objective Cleaning

Take extra care when cleaning the objective lens and always use lens cleaning paper to remove a larger amount of oil from the objective. To clean the traces of oil from the objective lens, use lens cleaning paper dipped in at least 70% ethanol.

Decontaminating/Cleaning of the Nanoimager

Switch off the system (from the back) and use low-lint lab tissue with 70% ethanol to wipe the Nanoimager.
DO NOT spray ethanol directly into the light engine or inside the microscope body.
70% ethanol is compatible with the Microscope Module, Light Link, Light Engine, stages, and plastic dip tray (around the objective).
Wait for 5 minutes before turning on the system again.

CAUTION - 70% ethanol is a flammable material
  1. Do not use close to open flame.
  2. Do use protective gloves.
  3. Do take care when switching power on/off while using ethanol.
